...Came Tumbling Down!

July 2026 Update
After very strong sales at 46 in June, sales in July fell back to 23 in the Powell River residential real estate market.  That’s down from last year’s 27 and a bit low for this time of year, but June was well above expectations.  With fewer sales and a decent bump in listings at 54 for the month it puts us back in a buyer’s market from the balanced one last month.  We’ve been in and out of a buyers market for about four years, so no big change there. Condo sales have been slower in the past year, but we had 5 in June.  There are many newer ones to choose from right now.  My six month rolling average on prices shows little change in the first six months of this year.  Sales in August have made a reasonable start so we should be up a little this month and I’m expecting a good market this fall.  Demand is still there but buyers have the luxury of watching and waiting for the right one to come along.  As summer draws to a close in a couple of weeks, we’ll see people paying a little more attention to the real estate market.
